Treatments
There are two main types of Reiki treatment
1. Treatment with client present
2. Distant treatment with client not present
Treatment with
Client Present
This is sometimes referred to as "hands on treatment" and is normally
carried out with
the person (client) laying down comfortably on a
treatment table or some suitable location or alternatively sitting
comfortably in a chair. The client remains fully clothed and can be
covered with a light blanket to maintain warmth if required.
Initially the practitioner should explain a little about Reiki to
the client and tell them what sort of feelings they may or may not
experience. The clients permission should be sought before starting the
treatment and it is suggested that they drink extra liquid for a while
after
the treatment as they may be a little dehydrated.
A treatment can take from 45 minutes to an hour or more and you will
find that the time spent with each client may vary. There are a number
of hand positions used during a treatment and normally a time of
3 to 5 minutes would be spent on each position.
Although referred to as "hands on" it is not necessary to put your
hands on the client and many practitioners work above the client's body
without actually touching them. My personal preference is to work in
the aura around 10" or so above the clients body and many clients
prefer this method.
There are several different ways of carrying out a treatment and each
practitioner would
(or should) develop the method that works best for them and they
feel most
comfortable with.
As I am not one
for trying to re-invent the wheel and as there
are many 'Reiki' websites
to be found with information on the different
ways of carrying out a treatment and the various types of Reiki such as
Usui Shiki Ryoho, Shamballa, Karuna, Kundalini, Rainbow, Angelic, Tummo
and Seichim to name a few I won't be elaborating on them in this
article.
Treatment with
client not present.
This again can be done in several different ways and intent is very
important as it is in all Reiki treatments. You should have the persons
name and location and a brief idea of the
problem 'distant healing' is required. It would also be preferable if a
suitable time when the person can sit or lay quietly and relaxed can be
arranged.
To send distant healing you can: visualise the person (if you know
them), use a photograph
or a proxy, visualise a miniature person between your hands or
you can simply
write the persons details on a peice of paper and ask to send healing
to that person. A normal distant healing would take a round 15 to
20minutes whilst you sit quietly and focus your intent on channeling
Reiki to that person. If there are several persons/clients requiring
distant healing you can write their deatails on a sheet of paper and
using your intent you ask to channel Reiki to all on the list.
